Released in 2020, the Samsung Galaxy A71 is a brilliant improvement on the outgoing Galaxy A70. Samsung improved every aspect of the Galaxy A71 and in a way, it paved the way for all Samsung A series devices that followed.
The Samsung Galaxy A71 boasts a thick bezel but a big 6.7inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Plus screen, with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and hole punch cutout front-facing camera and a rectangular rear camera housing with a polycarbonate rear cover with prism effect.
Powered by the Snapdragon 730 2.20GHz CPU with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB ROM, the A71 is a fast and smooth operator. Multitasking isn’t an issue at all and charging is fast thanks to the USB-C 25W charger.
The SIM card configuration is SIM 1 + SIM 2 + MicroSD, which is great as this is sometimes a rarity even on Samsung’s flagship devices. Camera-wise, Samsung has gone with the rear 64MP Main, 12MP Ultra Wide, 5MP Macro and 5MP Depth multiple cameras and with a 32MP front camera setup.
On the battery side, Samsung opted for 4,500mAh, the same battery as the Galaxy A70 but with a 25W super-fast charger allowing the Galaxy A71 to fully charge from zero in less than an hour.
The Samsung Galaxy A71 comes in 4 colours, Prism Crush Black, Silver, Blue and Haze Crush Silver colours. Only downside is the sluggish fingerprint sensor and the rhythmical pattern disguised plastic-looking rear cover.
In conclusion, the Galaxy A71 is a top-end stylish Galaxy A series handset with a premium gloss finish, curved edge screen, very comfortable to hold and packs features missing on some of Samsung’s own premium devices.
